Time is running out...

Finally, I am going back to Greece for the summer... to enjoy the sun, the sea and my family.

Since Sunday, I' ve been sorting out my things, paying my bills, finishing off some experiments in the lab (nothing fancy, I' ve set up some crosses, mainly control crosses) and visiting friends and family in Brighton and London.

I bought some gifts, mostly for meeee (!), and a telescope and a microscope for my two younger sisters. Am I trying to convert them into my religion ( science ) ? I am only trying to make science interesting for them...

Anyway, I'll keep the blog updated all the time- I will try to post interesting stories of my summer in Greece.

Evidence of our rambling experience

Cows and a really steep descend! Posted by Hello

One of the reasons that my feet are killing me is because I tried to descend this steep hill wearing my stupid leather Kickers... (what was I thinking??? )

I think that the cows weren't that impressed either!

A rambler's stroll...

I have mentioned earlier on the blog, I am working in a university Lab (working on fruit flies). Well, today all the lab, consisting of five people, decided to go for a stroll on the hills. The weather is lovely for the past week or so, thus we dressed lightly and left the civilisation behind us. We walked from Falmer (from the university) to Kingston (to the pub). Our stroll was amazing, a bit difficulty during our descend (mind me, you have to wear the appropriate footwear, and I obviously didn't). We arrived at Kingston on time for lunch and for some drinks too... plenty of water, plenty of pints of beer and some G&Ts ...
And then we were back on our feet for our walk back! The whole experience was great, I was amazed that I finally had the opportunity to see the real England, you know ... low hills, plenty of sheep and cows around you, the sun burning your face and any other exposed part of your body... a couple of beers and a really nice company.

In conclusion, my feet are blistered, my face is red hotttt! and I feel like I either had too much to drink (no way, I had just 1.5 pints) or the sun was too much for me.
My feet are killing meeee! It was my mistake to wear the wrong (completely wrong, believe me) footwear.

I had a hell of a time ... and I hope everyone else did as well!

The moon tonight is so pretty...

...it reminds me of the nights I usually spend in my favourite beach bar every single summer...
I always thought that the best way to chill out is by drinking a really long drink by the sea , around 3-4am listening to fading music, and feeling the sea breeze on your face!!! Oh, and of course staring at the moonlit night sky . . . The ultimate pleasure in life !

I 'd like to hear your suggestions on the drink.

I usually prefer a nice cold Corona or Sol, or even Carib, in a low glass filled with ice!
When I am really tired and stressed or rather down I prefer a hot cup of coffee (an espresso or a filter coffee will do just fine).

I am getting ready for the summer ...

Last Year's Photo... Posted by Hello
Eventhough this photo is an old one (taken last June), the summer look is almost the same. . . apart from the coat!
I've been really busy the previous week, so I skipped my blog updates...naughty boy!
Anyway, I will post some interesting stories later today or later this week.

Blue Flagged beach !!!

In some of my previous posts I was talking about Psakoudia, a small touristic settlement by the sea. (80 km from Thessaloniki, in Chalkidiki prefecture, Northern Greece )
I can now add to this description the fact that for the 5th consecutive year Psakoudia's beach has been Blue Flagged...
