English Summer ...
It is the end of May... next week summer is starting . Yeah sure...
It has been raining non-stop for the last 2 weeks ... and it is bitterly cold, too!
At least, when the dark clouds are playing hide and seek with the sun, that provides some great looking photos.
Oh, by the way have you heard the latest joke ?
English Drought ... ( it does not last for long though ! )

Have you ever wondered ...
...how ATMs work?
...or photo booths ?
...or even coffee machines ...?
I am sorry to disappoint you, there are no such things as micro-chips and automated systems in these machines... just ordinary people, stuck with the odd work !
A job is not for life...
great stuff/staff!!!

Finland (????) the Winners ...
The Finnish "horror rock" group Lordi are the winners of the 51st Eurovision Song Contest ...
A rather unusual winner, I might say... but still a quite Hard Rock song... !
I really enjoyed watching the Contest, which was AMAZING (to quote Maria Menounos...) !!!
Congrats to the winners, and to the organisers. . .
Even though there were 24 countries singing and 38 countries voting, I didn't feel tired or bored!
And even Terry Wogan enjoyed the night ! And thanked the Greeks for the lovely and AMAZING night!
The 51st Eurovision Song Contest ...
...is held in Athens !!!
And is still on!
I will update the post with the results and with the interesting comments of the BBC presenter, the great Terry Wogan!!!

Drinking hour(s)
The weather in Brighton has been really warm since Monday... Plenty of drinking opportunities...
On Monday unfortunately we had to work till late in the lab, but on Tuesday, we left early (around 6.30pm that is) and we went for a couple of Coronas in a pub. We did enjoyed ourselves!
Yesterday, we went for a couple of Coronas again , but this time we went to a pub with an open garden, had two to three Coronas each and finally we had food as well... It was sooo great, nice people, funny evening ... But unfortunately I had to leave early in order to catch my train home, so I missed the Ouzo part of the evening...
Apparently, we are meeting again today to watch the FA cup, and indulge in some more healthy drinking...
A couple of beers is healthy I suppose...
Anyway, have a nice weekend and Enjoy the sunshine!!!

movie ...
On Sunday night I watched a great film on BBC4... " The Princess and The Warrior "
It is a german film about a young nurse, Sissi, who lives and works in a mental institution somewhere near Wuppertal. She lives a secluded life in the asylum being mainly devoted to her patients. One morning she is left for dead by a truck and she is saved by a strange "weeping" guy, Bodo. Have a peek ... a lovely film, great photography, warm soundtrack, interesting story ...

A gift from Paris
For all chocolate addicts :
this is a photograph I found while sorting through my Paris Christmas 2005 photo-album folder... I guess it is a bit out of date, but chocolate is always a catchy subject, especially when it is so well presented !
In the far left of the photo I can spot some white chocolate truffles and some other goodies as well ...
I am bit hungry ... I am going to make something to eat, a salad probably with a couple of delicious black greek olives that my dad sent me (they are really tasty).

Virtual reality is virtual no more...
I am not familiar with the idea of the massively multi-player online role-playing games (MMORPGs) per se, but I can guess what is all about... Or so I thought...
I thought it was all about young teenagers gaming their way to their adolescence... or pathetic 45year old unemployed men who had nothing better to do than spending hours in front of their computer screen gaming their way to their decadent middle-age crisis... BUT I was wrong!
There is one such gaming project which lives up to our expectations (It depends on what anyone does expect after all)
Project Entropia is the name and inhabiting virtual worlds is the game... (quite a catchy phrase...)
A gamer can become a farmer , buy land, sell houses,
hunt animals for their fur and sell it and
even enjoy a night out clubbing.
The developers of the project are introducing something really wicked!!! They are offering to gamers a cash-card that can be used all over the world (the real thing this time) and spend the money they have earned during their gaming !!!
read more about that on this bbc story ... and previous stories here and here as well!
great stuff
(unfortunately, my laptop's performance is not giving me any chance of joining this virtual venture ... but we shall see! )
