I was lucky...

For those who don't remember (or never read) the post about me and my brother drinking around 20ish shots of tequila each, I want to confess that by reading this story on cnn, I felt rather luckyyy!

Point taken. " NO MORE TEQUILA FOR ME... I AM TOO SCARED ! "

The post I am talking about reads like :

Pete said...

Tell us something we don't know!

I was reading an article on the injustice that governs the allocation of the Iraqi oil reserves to American and British oil companies. There are some pretty disturbing facts in those reports...

Last night's TV : there was a documentary called Dispatches on Channel 4, which I found quite chilling... There were reports from Iraq, about how the americans (and their allies) have awaken a bloodthirsty monster of the past. The ethnic and religious differences between the iraqis of the South, the iraqis of Bagdad region and the Kurds of the North that had been surpressed during the Saddam era, have been unleashed!

footnote: the channel 4 and Dispatches sites are up and running at the moment. I will try to keep you informed.

Smoking is bad !!! Really bad for your health!!!

Smokers or drinkers (originating from France) should never be allocated a seat by the emergency exit door of a plane. They pose a serious threat to the safety of the flight. if you think that is unfair, read this article.

Holy S**t.
I am try to visualise the scene... it is toooo scary !

I am too busy to surf ...

but I always find a couple of minutes to update my blog.

Right now I am listening to a greek radio station on the internet, and I am trying to concentrate (!!!) cause I have to read 2 papers for tomorrow's journal club (lab-)meeting.
If anyone come across anything worth-posting for, feel free to mention it to your comments. This blog is an "open-mic" blog. Feel free to comment, shout your thoughts out, share with me your worries etc.

I 've found some funny and rather cool photos of my sister and I.
The photos were obviously taken during the summer. It is funny, cause I miss the "summery feeling".

Anyway, my sister Rania is posing (as always) for a photoshoot,

while I am a bit high, on coffee,

you can tell that by looking at my cheaky grimace... !
I am enjoying my coffee, for sure.

Are they taking the Mickey???

According to a RAI (the italian national TV channel) documentary, which aired yesterday night, a former US soldier, Jeff Englehart, who served in Falluja, tells of how he heard orders for white phosphorus deployement over military radio - and saw the results. Dead children and women ...

Those who took Saddam to a trial about the infamous "gassing" of the Kurds of Hallabja back in 80's , now they are using chemical weapons (which by all means are legal) to stop the insurgents of Falluja. I feel sick!!!
No western media (until now) had shown photos of dead children and women with their flesh burnt up to the bone.

White Phosphorus ...

No comments ... It is Just Sickening!!!

"We Do Not Torture..."

... Bush commented on several reports on secret prisons. I agree, the US do not torture. Their newly established allies in Eastern Europe DO the torturing for them. . .
Simply a Disgrace!

Tragic Story... Great Photos

I was reading an article on WTC attack on the 9/11. There was a web-link of a photographer who lost his life during the collapse of the second tower. The story is as tragic as it can be, while the photos he took during his last moments are telling most of it.

Amazing

I was surfing the net looking for answers on the 9/11 terrorist attack, and I realised that in the US they tend to forget rather easily... or at least that's how it seems to be. Are they still looking for the people responsible for the attacks, Osama and Co.? I've got a feeling that they just don't care. What did really happen on 9/11?

Autumn at last!

... Strong gales, showers and low visibility are the main characteristics of the first week of November. I do enjoy the weather!
Apparently, this winter (in Britain and mainland Europe) will be the coldest of the last 50 years.

On other news now,
David Blunkett has resigned from cabinet (for a second time during the last year). Poor David, I think he is one of the best British politicians of the recent British Political history.

President Bush asked for $7.1 billion for the war against (terror ???) a flu pandemic. My only fear is that he might need to use a part of the pledged money for the war against terror...

John Howard, PM of Australia has warned that he is aware of certain terror threats against Australia. But he didn't want to comment specifically on the threats. Lets hope he is wrong!

Some of the best photographs of 2005...
